We are pleased to announce that Dr. Venkataramana Kandi has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the PSM Microbiology Journal (ISSN 2518-3834).
Dr. Venkataramana Kandi has done his Masters in Medical Microbiology from Manipal University in India, and after registering for Ph.D. from Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, India, he completed his doctoral research on HIV disease management in the highly active antiretroviral therapy era. He has also been awarded a Ph.D. by publication (ASU-America). Elected as a member (MAMS) of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) for the year 2017. He is a life member of the Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists (IAMM) (LM 1919) and the Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI) (AMI/LM465/2013). He is also a member of the Asian Council for Science Editors (ASCE). He has presented and published nearly 200 research papers in national and international conferences and journals. He has to his credit more than 2,200 citations. His research interests include wide areas of medical microbiology with a special interest in HIV research, antimicrobials, and infections prevalent in the rural population. He is on the editorial board of more than 25 international journals and is an invited reviewer for prestigious journals like Emerging Infectious Diseases (CDC journal) (2008, 2009).
